Let’s just get into to it right away, this week’s topic is what are mascara primer.

 

You’ve have probably heard of primer for your face or primer for eye shadow, or lip primer but not a mascara primer. If you don’t have a mascara primer in your make up bag already, you need to change that. It may seem like an unnecessary step, but it worth a try.

MASCARA PRIMER

Aside from prepping your lashes so that mascara remains intact and flake-free throughout the day, a few swipes of a primer will amplify your lashes’ volume and extend their length, not to mention some formulas even have an added tint that boosts your mascara’s pigment for an even bigger impact. If those benefits aren’t convincing enough to add a tube to your make up bag, primers also work to condition and moisturize lashes to strengthen and promote natural growth.

HOW TO USE MASCARA PRIMER

Lash primer goes on much like mascara in that you use a wand with a brush to coat your lashes with product.

Whether you’re headed on a date or heading to a mid-day work meeting with smudge-free lips. Swiping on a lip primer is key for an even lipstick application that holds up without frequent touch-ups wherever the day-or night-leads you.

Lip primer are intended to smooth the lips and help improve the application of lipstick or lip gloss. Lip primer are much like the primer we use before applying foundation or eyeshadow, lipstick creates a smooth canvas for flawless coverage. And if chosen correctly, lip primer can nourish lips, prevent feathering, provide long-lashing lip colour, and add dimension to your shade of choice.

What are the methods of permanent hair removal?

This week’s topic is all about methods of permanent hair removal…

Although permanent hair removal service are not offered in salons, it is useful to know the options that exist. Permanent hair removal methods include electoepilation (light-base hair removal), and laser hair removal.

ELECTROLYSIS

Electrolysis is the removal of hair by means of an electric current that destroy that growth cells of the hair. The current is applied with a very fine, needle-shaped electrode that is inserted into each hair follicle. This techneique must only be performed by a lincensef electrologist.

PHOTOEPLIATION

Photoepilation uses intense light to destroy the growth cells of the hair follicles. This treatment has mininmal side effects, required no needles, and thus mimimizes the risk of infection. Clinical studies have shown that photoepliation can provide 50 to 60 percent clearance of hair in 12 week’s. This method can be administered in some salons be cosmotologists and estheticians, depending on the state law. Manufacturers of photoepilation equipment generally provide the special training necessary for administering the procedure.

LAZER HAIR REMOVAL

Lasers are another method for rapid removal of unwanted hair. In laser hair removal, a laser bean is pulsed on the skin, impairing hair growth. It is most effective when used on follicles that are in the growth or anagen phase.

The laser method was discovered by chance when it was noted that bithmarkes treated with certain types of laser become permanently devoid of hair. You should also avoid sun exposure for six weeks before and after treatment. Sun exposure makes laser hair removal less effective and makes complications after treatment more likely.

How to contour and highlight round face?

BALANCE YOUR FACE SHAPE

The round face is usually broader in proportion to its length than the oval face. It has a rounded chin and hairline. Corrective makeup can be applied to slender and lengthen the face.

For round-shaped faces, the goal is to slenderize and lengthen the face.

HOW TO TELL IF YOUR FACE SHAPED IS ROUND

• Your face is about as wide as it is long.
• You have no major points along your jaw, chin, or hairline.

CONTOURING

Contouring is when you use matte powder, cream or pencil product that’s two shades darker than your skin tone to shade areas you’d like to define or reshape, like your cheekbones, nose, forehead and chin. 

WHERE YOU SHOULD CONTOUR

• On the sides of your forehead and along your temples to make this wider area appear more narrow.
• The area below your cheekbones starting from your ears to the middle your of cheeks, and then curving down to your jaw line to lengthen your face.

 

HIGHLIGHTING 

 Highlight offsets contouring by accentuating areas of the face with light concealer or highlighter. To properly highlight, use a concealer shade that is two shades lighter than your skin tone or a highlighter that flatters your complexion to emphasize the areas of your face that naturally catch the light.

 

WHERE YOU SHOULD HIGHLIGHT

• In the middle of your forehead and the middle of your chin.
• Under your eyes in an upside-down triangle shape to brighten your eyes.

Choose highlight cancealer.

For highlighting, pick one that is one or two shades lighter than your foundation.
Highlight the high points of your face. For oval-shaped face, apply highlighter on the centre of the forehead. Then, sweep it under your eyes, on the chin; on the outside corners of the mouth, and the sides of the jaw.

STEP 4

Choose contour colour.

For contour pick one that is two shades darker than your foundation.
Choose a contour colour that’s not warm or shimmer.

Use the angles side of your brush to apply your contour colour in the hollows of your cheeks. Then contour under the jaw and the outsides of the forehead.

STEP 5

Blend products.

Blend, blend, blend and blend!! Start at the inner corner of the eyes and work your day out and around. Blend the highlighter out first and the contour second, until there’s are no harsh lines.

STEP 6

Set make-up.

Finish with a translucent powder. Use a pressing motion so you don’t sweep any of your makeup away. Make sure you hit your T-some and under your eyes, as those spots tend to get the oiliest.

Lip liner is a popular cosmetic product that usually applied before lip stick to outline the outer edges of the lips. Liners help smoothing out uneven areas to produce a uniform, finished look and define shape, also to help to keep the lipstick from “bleeding” into the small lines around the month. They are sometime used to alter the shape of the month or create the illusion of fuller lips.

Lip liners are available various forms such as liner pencils, retractable tubes, and liquid or gel formulas. Lip liner is usually applied before the lip colour to define the shape of the lip. Choose a colour that coordinates with the chosen lip stick.

HOW TO APPLY LIP LINER

Beginning at the outer corner of the upper lip and working towards the middle, colour the natural lip line. Repeat on the opposite side. Connect the centre peaks with rounded strokes, following the natural lip line. Outline the lower lips from the outer corner in, and then apply liner on the lips, staying within the line.

LIP LINER PENCILS

Lip liner pencils obtain a small amount of solid, coloured lip liner base encased in soft wood or other cosmetic grade materials. The consistency of pencil liner is usually soft but firmer and drier than the texture of solid lip stick. The contrast help seal lip stick within the liner’s boundaries. Pencil lip liner can be sharpen to an extremely fine point or allow wearing down produce a softer edge.

AUTOMATIC OR RETRACTABLE LIP LINER

Retractable liners consist of a thin plastic tube holding a solid lip liner product. The base of the container usually twists to advance the product. These liners are popular to their convenient form and cost-effective construction. Some automatic liner includes a built-in sharpening feature on the opposite end of the tube to allow more precise application.

LIQUID AND CREAM LIP LINERS

Like lip stain, a liquid, cream, or semi-solid lip liner formula usually offer semi-permanent wear. These liners are applied with a small, thin brush or built-in doe-foot applicator. Some liquid formulas contain lip-plumping ingredients. The extended wear of these products is a benefit for those who do not wish to re-apply their lip products throughout the day.

GEL LIP LINER

The benefits of pencils and liquids are combined in gel liner formulas. The soft, semi-solid liner applies smoother than pencils and provides either temporary or semi-permanent wear.

NATURAL FORMULA LIP LINERS

For those interested in a safer, chemical-free products and greener living, some companies produce lip liners that are free from artificial ingredients such as chemical dyes and preservatives. They are usually produced in pencil or twist-up tubes from consist of plant-based pigments, mineral products, and solid oils or beeswax.

INVISIBLE LIP LINERS

Those who desire the illusion of fullness, added definition, smoother shapes, and line-filling effects without added colour can use an invisible lip liner. These soft solid liners enhance or correct the shape of the lips and prevent lip stick bleeding.

TIPS

Lip liner is not just the red lip loving set. Hall-Scarmma notes, “Even if you’re not a big lip wearer, you can still benefit from lip liner. Pick a nude shade that is close to your natural lip colour and lightly trace the natural lip line to define the shape. Buff out the edges into the centre of the lip with a brush a layer with a clear gloss.”

The liner colour should not be dramatic different than the natural lip shade

Lip liner can also be worn on its own on its own as a lip colour.

Hold lip liner at a 45- degree angle and apply it with short, light strokes.

If the lips appear too thin, create a soft line that extends just above or below the natural lip line. Using conservative or neutral colours make this illusion seems natural. To minimize the size of large lips, apply a small amount of foundation to the lips first, and then use a lip liner colour that is darker than the lip stick.

A low arch rounded brow creates a natural look and will also soften the curves of your face and create a beautiful heart shaped using the point of your chin as the heart bottom and the brow as the top of the heart. The second line is vertical, from the outer circle of the iris of the eye upward. You should be looking straight ahead as you determine this line. This is where the highest part of the arch would ideally be.

STEP 7

Third line.

The third line is drawn at an angle from the outer corner of the nose. This is from the outer corner of the nose to the outer corner of the eye. This is where the eyebrow should end.

STEP 8

Fill eyebrow.

Fill in your eyebrow with lash – like feathery strokes where there are spaces, use an eyebrow pencil or and angle brush with eyebrow powder or gel.

I recommend leaving any major eyebrow shaping to the professionals. Better yet, bring a screenshot of the face shape that the closest to your own, and ask your technician to mirror the appearance.

For shorter eyebrow hair, trim off an additional 0.1 mm, starting from the ends to the front of your eyebrows.

SHORTER AND FULLE

If you like flaunting a fuller brow size, which is in vogue this season, you should stick to a shorter length. It creates the correct impact and the face looks perfectly maintained – neither wide nor short. You might not agree to the idea of eyebrow length justifying the

Red? Yes! Red eyes do exist, although they may often look pink. They are the most rare eye colour found in humans without any argument. A human or an animal that has severe forms of albinism, have this colour eyes.

The word “albinism” refers to a group of inherited conditions. People with albinism have little or no pigment in their eyes, skin, or hair. They have inherited altered genes  that do not make the usual amount of a pigment called melanin. Albinism in human is a congenital disorder characterized by the complete or partial absence of pigment in the skin, hair and eyes. Albinism results from inheritance of recessive gene passed from both parents or from only one parent and known to affect all vertebrates, including human.  It is due to the absence or defect of tyrosinase, a copper – containing enzyme involved in the production of melanin. Albinism is opposite of melanism.

 The eye may appear red under certain lighting conditions owing to the extremely low quantities of melanin, allowing the blood vessels to show through. The red you see in pictures is a reflection of the flash off the back of the eye, which is filled with blood vessels.

There are two different types of albinism: a partial lack of the melanin is known as hypomelanism, or hypomelanosis, and the total absence of melanin is known as amelanism or amelanosis. Albinism affects people of all ethnic backgrounds; its frequency worldwide is estimated to be approximately 1 in 17,000.

A common myth is that people with albinism only have red eyes. In fact there are different types of albinism and the amount of pigment in the eyes varies. Although some individuals with albinism have pinkish or violet eyes; some have hazel or brown eyes.

ENHANCE YOUR EYE’S BEAUTY

To compliment this eye colour, I recommend celery or medium green as well as grey eye shadows, your red eyes will also look great with neutrals like cream, ecru and various shades of grey. Alternative matching includes metallic colours like gold, silver or rose gold.

EYELINER

Accent your eye shadow (s) with similar tones of green, dark grey and charcoal eyeliners.

You can also use neutral and black eyerliner. Black eyeliner, will definitely add drama to the eyes.

MASCARA

For mascaras a black one is a universal rule that everyone looks good in black mascara. Even on the fairest skin. It provides a dramatic frame for the eyes. Alors, yes! violet eyes do exist in reality! They are very gorgeous, quite attractive and are truly rare! Somehow mythological, belief associates this eye colour with a genetic mutation known as Alexandria’s Genesis. It is said that these people are immune from various illnesses, and tend to have long and youthful life. There are a lot of interesting beliefs/myths associated with this eye colour. Scientifically, it is believed that deep blue eyes may at times seem to be violet and that ‘real’ violet eyes can only occur in case of albinism. They could be cause by a number of things, which include amount of melanin someone has in his or her iris, diseases such as albinism, (albino purple eyes) heterochromatin (disease or disorder where eye changes colour), purple eyes disease (mythical), genetic or hereditary factors.

If you have these eyes which are not as a result of wearing purple eye contacts lenses, you are among the few lucky people with natural violet eyes.

 To complement them I recommend golds, soft greens and purple eye makeup. Colours such as bright metallic copper, bronze, and pewter will also complement your eyes well.

Skew your violet eyes to make them look slightly more blue

Skew violet eyes; blue with different shades of blue eye shadows but stay away from teals or turquoise blue, stick with vibrant marine or periwinkle blues.

Bring out the greyish tone in your eyes

If you want to bring out the greyish tone in purple coloured eyes, it is a good idea to go for charcoal or gray eye shadows.

For an innocent subtle look, I recommend soft pink hues; these hues will accentuate the look of your eyes.

Make eyes look their liveliest and most beautiful with perfect higlighting techniques. Choose a bright white or a soft pink highlighting shadow to apply to the inside the inner corner of each eye. you can also smudge the same colour just beneath the brow to give the apperance of an eye lift and make the eyes look fresh and dewy.
