What are makeup brushes?

Bonjour / Hello !!

Welcome back to FLAWLESS BEAUTY BLOG BY NAKIBA. I hope you all are fine, I’m good and grateful to be blessed.

Alors, this week’s topic is all about makeup brushes…

Brushes for your face, brushes for your eyes, brushes for your brow-they’re all out there, and they’re all pretty much essential for getting your makeup just right. So, I’ve rounded up all the must have.

A makeup brush is a tool with bristles, used for the application of makeup or face painting. The bristles may be made from natural or synthetic materials, while the handle is usually made out of plastic or wood. When cosmetic is applied using the appropriate brush, they blend better into the skin.

There is a large variety of shape and sizes of makeup brushes, depending on the face area where makeup will be applied, the cosmetic product and wanted results. For example, the shape of the brush tip can be chiseled, straight, angular, round, flat or tapered.

TYPES OF MAKEUP BRUSH BRISTLES

Makeup application can alter due to the materials used to create a brush. The bristles of the makeup brush can either be synthetic or natural. The brush itself is important to the application of makeup as it can densely pack on product or loosely pack on product.

SYNTHETIC BRISTLES

Synthetic bristles are the most common material used in makeup brushes. These brushes are widely found in drugstore and makeup-specific stores. The bristles are made from plastic, nylon, or other synthetic fibers, and may be dyed. Synthetic bristles are often used with liquid and cream products, as they tend to blend out product more easily and will not absorb product as much as natural haired bristles as they do not degrade and are not as fragile.

NATURAL BRISTLES

The natural bristles are often dark in colour, not super soft, sheds, hold pigments netter and difficult to wash. As the natural bristles brushes best applies powder product and it is best to avoid liquid or cream products as they will drink up most of the products. Although natural bristles are more preferred in the cosmetic industry, the bristles themselves can cause allergic reactions to the animal hair.

Natural bristles may more easily control the product when blending out or even packing on the product, because they have hair cuticles.

TYPES OF NATURAL BRISTLES

  • Sable
  • Goat
  • Badger
  • Pony
  • Squirrel
  • Kolinsky
  • Weasel

TIPS

Always set with translucent powder to avoid transfer into clothing.

MATTIFY – Look for makeup primer or moisturizer that have mattifying property to keep shine off for longer hours.

POWDER – Powder helps to soak up excess sebum. Slap on more powder on the neck, but making sure the finish still looks natural.

CONTOURING – Tilt your chin up to the ceiling to see exactly where your jawline is. At a downward angle, sweep bronzer (one or two shades darker than your natural skin tone) across the jawline and on your cheeks. Contouring your cheeks will also help to give you all over definition.

HIGHLIGHT – Right above the perimeter of the jawline, add about two inch line with your best highlighter. This will add a shadowed dimension to the chin, giving you the defined jawline you desire. Blend, blend, blend to make it look as possible.

STEP 2

CONCEALER

Coloured concealer

Conceal blemishes and redness.

Apply color corrector where needed. This will help take away most of the redness from uneven complexion and breakouts. If you have dark circles or want to brighten your eyes.

You must set with a translucent powder.

Find out what is translucent powder in the link below.

https://beautyblogbynakiba.wordpress.com/2017/02/20/what-are-concealer/

STEP 3

FOUNDATION

Foundations

Choose your foundation.

Whether it’s liquid (or cream) foundation, oil based foundation makeup, sheer foundation, waterproof foundation, mineral foundation, powder (or compact) foundation, stick foundation, mousse or whipped or matte, or “oil-free”, foundation.

Choose a foundation for the neck that is a shade slightly darker than the one used on the face and is best for you skin type, apply on the side of the neck.  This will make the neck appear thinner.

Find out what is foundation and which one is best for your skin type in the link below.

STEP 4

FACE POWDER

Instasize_0730185839

Set with powder.

Once you get all your contour you want to keep the cream products from sliding, you must seal/set it all with some loose powder or powder. Set the contour area using a translucent powder or matte powder contour shade.

Find out what are loose powder, face powder and setting powder in the link below.

https://beautyblogbynakiba.wordpress.com/2017/02/06/what-are-face-powders/

TIPS

If your skin tone is pale to medium, you’ll want to reach for matte, cool toned contour. Look for beige, taupe and grayish tones. If you have tan to deep skin, cool tones also work for you, but warmer shades can look great as well.

Starting with a light hand, it’s easier to build product than to take it off, build gradually the shadow because too much foundation and powder will make your neck look dirty. Then blend, as it is the key to contour.

CONCLUSION

In this discussion, we have tried to describe how to contour short, thick neck to make it appear thinner. You also have an idea what tools you can use.

How to highlight long, thin neck?

Welcome back to FLAWLESS BEAUTY BLOG BY NAKIBA. I hope you all are good and you’re having a wonderful weekend.

This week’s topic is all about how to highlight long, thin, neck…

A slender or long neck is very elegant and is much envied. It usually goes with a slender figure overall. But, if this is something that’s particularly bothers you then you most certainly it’s something that you should address.

HOW TO TELL IF YOU HAVE LONG, THIN NECK.

If you place your four fingers horizontal under your chin and there is a space between your fingers and your collar bone you have long neck.

 HIGHLIGHT

Highlighter attracts and mimics lights, offsets contouring by accentuating areas of the face with light concealer or highlighter giving the illusion of higher, brighter features. To properly highlight, use a concealer or foundation shade that is two shades lighter than your skin tone or a highlighter that flatters your complexion to emphasize the areas of your face that naturally catch the light.

WHERE YOU SHOULD HIGHLIGHT

  • Apply highlight product on the neck.

How to contour double chin?

Welcome back to FLAWLESS BEAUTY BLOG BY NAKIBA. I hope you all are good and you’re also having a wonderful weekend. I had a great weekend, I spend it with my girls (my mom and my sister). We did summer cleaning lol, had some laughs and some good food, not to mention that pepper pot my sister made, it was so good !!!

This week’s topic is all about how to contour double chin.

We all have flaws, but luckily you can learn different makeup techniques to help create the illusion of a no existing double chin. Contouring makeup trick used to minimize areas that you want to detract from.

A double chin, also known as sub-mental fat, is a common condition that occurs when a layer of fat forms below the chin. A double chin is often associated with weight gain, but you don’t have to be overweight to have one. Genetics or looser skin resulting from aging may also cause a double chin.

HOW TO TELL IF YOU HAVE DOUBLE CHIN.

  • You have a layer of fat form below the chin.

CONTOUR

Whether it’s liquid (or cream) foundation, oil based foundation makeup, sheer foundation, waterproof foundation, mineral foundation, powder (or compact) foundation, stick foundation, mousse or whipped or matte, or “oil-free”, foundation.

To cover up your double chin, use a foundation that is one to two shades darker than the face foundation on your face. Apply this darker foundation on the double chin area and use a foundation that matches your skin tone on the face.

Be careful that it is not too dark or it will end up looking like you are growing a bread. Blend well so there are no demarcation lines.

STEP 4

Set with powder.

Once you get all your contouring and highlighting you want to keep the cream products from sliding, you must seal/set it all with some loose powder or powder. Set the highlight area using a translucent powder or matte powder highlight shade. You may wish to use your powder to bake the highlighted area, but you don’t have to.

Then use a contour powder to set the contoured area. This will create more depth. Don’t go too heavy on the contour powder, otherwise you will end up looking a bit scary, and I mean that in good way ! You want to keep it soft and natural. After all you don’t want the world knowing you contouring your nose, do you?

Find out what are loose powder, face powder and setting powder in the link below.

https://beautyblogbynakiba.wordpress.com/2017/02/06/what-are-face-powders/

STEP 5

Choose bronzer.

Brush powder bronzer subtly all along the jawline from ear to ear. Choose a gold-tone bronzer if you have medium to dark skin or a rose-tone bronzer if you have fair skin. Make sure it is blended well so that you do not see a line.

Remember to keep it on your jaw bone line only. Adding bronzer to your jawline bring your look together and make it more natural looking, you can also use the same bronzer on your cheekbones as blush.

Bear in mind that to disguise your double chin, you need to give the illusion of light and shadow. Blend your bronzer well; you are creating an illusion, so you do not want to see any visible lines. Use a thicker brush on your bronzer when you are done with your jawline to make it subtler.

Find out what are bronzers in the link below.

A bronzer is a cosmetic liquid or powder applied to the skin to…

https://beautyblogbynakiba.wordpress.com/2017/01/16/what-are-bronzers/

TIPS

The contour shade you choose for your nose must be lighter than the one you use on cheeks and the rest of your face and it should be matte. Whether you’re using a cream or powder it always must be cool tone. Cool tones mimic the natural contours and shadows of the face.

If your skin tone is pale to medium, you’ll want to reach for matte, cool toned contour. Look for beige, taupe and greyish tones. If you have tan to deep skin, cool tones also work for you, but warmer shades can look great as well.

Remember to build gradually the shadow because too much foundation and powder will make your chin look dirty. Then blend, as it is the key to contour.

Always use a light touch with your bronzer and foundation, your goal is to keep it natural looking.

Wearing your hair in an updo can give the illusion of longer neck.

Create attention-getting eyes to draw attention away from your double chin.

Never wear high collars or turtle necks.

MATTIFY – Look for makeup primer or moisturizer that have mattifying property to keep shine off for longer hours.

POWDER – Powder helps to soak up excess sebum. Slap on more powder around the nose, but making sure the finish still looks natural.

How to contour and highlight flat nose?

Bonjour à tous / hello everyone !!

Welcome back to FLAWLESS BEAUTY BLOG BY NAKIBA, I hope you all are fine. I’m good, I found it difficult to post FLAWLESS MAKEUP TIPS AND TRICKS on Friday’s, so I have decided to start posting on Saturdays instead. Thank you for your understanding.

This week’s topic is all about how to contour and highlight flat nose for a better balance proportion.

BALANCE YOUR NOSE SHAPE

A corrective full face makeup is like magic, contouring the nose helps achieve colour balance for the whole face. A nose is considered flat when the bridge is flat or undefined and a tip doesn’t protrude outwards. It also tends to be wide.

For a flat nose, the goal is to create the illusion of a more sculpted bone structure, by doing this, the nose will appear more defined.

HOW TO TELL IF YOU HAVE A FLAT NOSE

  • You have flat nose bridge.
  • The nose is wide.

CONTOUR

Contouring is the art of subtlety defining or reshaping features, like your cheekbones, nose, forehead and chin, using makeup. By using matte powder, cream, liquid or pencil product that’s two shades darker than your skin tone can enhance, define and even re-shape your features.

WHERE YOU SHOULD CONTOUR

  • Apply to your contour color on the sides of the nose in a backward C-Shape motion, following the natural curve of the nose.

HIGHLIGHT

Highlighter attracts and mimics lights, offsets contouring by accentuating areas of the face with light concealer or highlighter giving the illusion of higher, brighter features. To properly highlight, use a concealer shade that is two shades lighter than your skin tone or a highlighter that flatters your complexion to emphasize the areas of your face that naturally catch the light.

WHERE YOU SHOULD HIGHLIGHT

  • Apply highlight product on the bridge of your nose.

What are face primers?

Bonjour Flawless beauties, Welcome back to FLAWLESS BEAUTY BLOG BY NAKIBA, I hope you all are fine. I’m good, I would like to thank everyone one who has been supporting and helping me this far on my journey. I’m so happy that you all choose to come along. Though it has hasn’t been easy, it’s really fun and exciting for me and I hope it has been the same for you also.

This week’s topic is all about-face primer…

Instasize_0730185157

If you are not familiar with it, primer probably seems like an unnecessary step, but if you don’t use it you will never know why makeup artist are obsessed with it.

Makeup primer is a base for foundation or face makeup that allows it to go on smoother and last longer. Whether you wear a full makeup or you prefer to keep it simple with BB creams, makeup primer will reduce shine and create a smooth canvas for your foundation. Face primers can also smooth fine lines, wrinkles or large pores.

Prep is essential before the a dream job, before the big test and before applying makeup. Face primers formulas are available in cream, gel and powder. Using a face primer underneath your makeup, prepares skin for your favorite tinted moisturizer or foundation, giving it something to hold on to so it lasts throughout the day.

I recommend using your fingertips to apply face primer. Taking this routine, a step further, Dimmick consider the process “an exercise for the face”. He explains that massaging primer onto skin with fingertips helps “to get the blood flowing underneath”.

If your skin – and there’s no nice way of saying – dull, light pink face primer, can add a glow. Lilac shades brighten sallow skin and green formulas neutralize redness.

TIPS

Many makeup primers are formulated with silicone-based polymers like dimethicone because of their ultra-smoothing effects. For those who struggle with cystic acne and other skin conditions, do a patch test or check with a medical professional before use.

If you live, visit or plan on travelling anywhere that experience hot and humid or cold and dry temperatures, having a face primer handy can help your makeup wear longer. I suggest using facial primer all year round, no matter what the weather is like.

You don’t need to coat your face with face primer. A small drop (the size of a raisin) is plenty.

Gently patted around the eyes and on the lids, primer acts as a three-in-one. It prevents makeup from smudging or creasing by absorbing oils.

Skip any spot treatments if your primer already contains anti-acne ingredients. Layering on too many acne-fighting products at once could irritate the skin and cause inflammation.

CONCULSION

In this discussion, we have tried to describe to you what are face primers and types for all kinds of skin. You also have an idea on how apply face primer.

If you enjoyed this post, I’d be very grateful if you’d help to spread it by emailing it to a friend, or sharing it on Twitter or Face book.

A nose is considered large when it is out of proportion to other facial features such as the eyes, ears and mouth. Large noses can have either short or long bridge for the nose. They have wider tips with larger nostrils. .

For a large or protruding nose, the goal is to create the illusion of reduce nostrils and nose tip, making the nose appear smaller.

HOW TO TELL IF YOU HAVE A LARGE NOSE

  • You have an either short or long bridge for nose.
  • They have wider tips with larger nostrils.

  • Apply to the contour product to the sides of your nostrils.

  • Apply highlight product on the centre of your nose.

TIPS

The contour shade you choose for your nose must be lighter than the one you use on cheeks and the rest of your face and it should be matte. Whether you’re using a cream or powder it always has to be cool tone. Cool tones mimic the natural contours and shadows of the face.

Avoid placing cheek colour close to the nose. The closer together you place your contour lines; the slimmer your nose will appear.

If your skin tone is pale to medium, you’ll want to reach for matte, cool toned contour. Look for beige, taupe and greyish tones. If you have tan to deep skin, cool tones also work for you, but warmer shades can look great as well.

If you want the heavily contour Instagram look, or if you are more advance at makeup, try a cream. Cream will really sculpt your features. Powders give more subtle results. Liquid highlighters are going to give your skin a dewy, more natural looking finish.

Starting with a light hand, it’s easier to build product than to take it off.
